So last night was our special Appalgate show (the scandals edition), and it was pretty sweet. If you missed it, you can check it out on the podcasts page. Also be sure to check out the limited edition Appalgate flier on the fliers page. In case you don't know, the scandal we're talking about is the infamous "noose incident" on campus, and all that has gone down with that in the past few weeks. For more information on both of these, you can read up on The Appalachian. Next week is our last Friday night show! We're hoping to have a special hour sometime during exams, but as of right now, next week is technically the last episode of Appalachian Awesome. So that means we'll be pushing the limit even more than usual, and it's guaranteed to be full of awesomeness. So do yourself a favor, and tune in!

4.13 Last Friday (4.11) with "The Secret B-Sides" was very fun and certainly awesome. We gave away passes to Merlefest and some tix to The Disco Biscuit show that's coming up on 4.20. We also talked to some people who gave us the inside stories on students being arrested as well as the Boone Saloon blaze. The Secret B-Sides were dead aim, and Anderson gave us the backstage update from the BTBAM show in Charlotte. We'll be back Friday to give away more tickets to shows so get ready! Also, be on the look out for our new limited edition fliers that feature the former governor of New York, Eliot Spitzer. BE EXCELLENT TO EACH OTHER!

We're going to have Jesse, the frontman of local band Harvard, on the show for a little acoustic segment and interview. And, of course, we want to send out a big congratulations to Harvard and Bafoodus for tying for first place in the Meisa Music Festival in March. Hit us up here if you have a request for tomorrow night, and be sure to keep your phone handy to call in requests and for chances to win stuff: 828-264-4905

Jason Skipper and Jake Wade of Columns fame will be joining us in the studio Friday, February 15 for a sneak preview of their newest demo and a little interview segment. These guys are metal to the fullest and they totally do it all the time. They'll be telling us about their new guitarist, John Stone, who recently won the Truman Capote Literary Trust Scholarship in Creative Writing, and the new songs they've been writing. Derek DeSha will also be in the studio with us on Friday for an update on his win-a-date experience. Be sure to pick up Thursday's edition of The Appalachian to read his article about it...(and cut him a little slack, he's just a photographer.) We're also giving away some tickets tonight so make sure you tune in while you're pregaming! If you have any song requests, comments, questions or suggestions, please Studio Phone - 828.264.4905
